A Personal Journey of Awakening In my early twenties, I had a spiritual experience which confirmed my belief that the soul continues to exist after leaving human form. I became more curious about spirituality, and in my spare time I read “new age” books. I called myself “spiritual” and a “good person” and felt that this was enough to get me into heaven. Slowly, the demands of life (my ego) started to take over and I felt a greater distance between God and me. I didn’t realize it at the time, but my ego was directing my life, not my Higher Self.
