A Personal Journey of Awakening In my early twenties, I had a spiritual experience which confirmed my belief that the soul continues to exist after leaving human form. I became more curious about spirituality, and in my spare time I read “new age” books. I called myself “spiritual” and a “good person” and felt that this was enough to get me into heaven. Slowly, the demands of life (my ego) started to take over and I felt a greater distance between God and me. I didn’t realize it at the time, but my ego was directing my life, not my Higher Self. I listened to my ego which told me that climbing the ladder of success was my life’s priority. I now see that I was in spiritual blindness and this led me to take a step down on the ascension pyramid. Years later, as I started seeking deep answers for unresolved issues in my life, I returned to spiritual education. I explored different modalities, had sessions with healers, took workshops, and signed up for courses.
